LooKing Up Looking Down Officially Released Today Worldwide On iTunes - 25 June 2008
I am extremely proud along with Steve in announcing the official worldwide release of Looking Up Looking Down through iTunes, available in all iTune markets on all continents, pretty cool, really.
Don't worry if you purchase your music through other great digital services, all other major comanies will be following shortly
The album contains 16 yes sixteen original tracks but in old skool style the album comes in at just under 50 minutes by 1 second. The idea has been to write solid POP songs in classic formula's and we've loved every minute of it and hope you enjoy the results.
Many thanks as always.
Cheers!

Songs Of The Summer.. - 17 June 2008
So I maybe making and sure I am making a Fopar (is that how you spell it ?). But rather than pucking my own music this summer, I wanted to have an opportunity to share some of my favorite songs by my favorite artists. Now I know this is in breach of copyright, but I'm not allowing anyone to download, Its FREE publicity if anyone is watching and if it were not for these bands, I would'nt be doing this anyway so go figure ?
"Into The Valley " Need You Say Anymore", I challenge any contender to better it !!!! Best punk band ever !
for a slice of what I'm listening to this summer.
Cheers!

Bosnia to Hong Kong - 16 June 2008
Well,
I have to say you can not beat the power of music to join people together. And I'm proud to say so far this month we have visitors from Bosnia to Hong Kong. I don't know who you are, but welcome. And make sure if you like the music, feel it, hold it, let it go !
Cheers ! - to everyone who continues to find play and distribute my music.
And a special mention to Colin Meeks at Indie Launchpad, who has been supporting my releases for the last couple of years now and helping to get the word out.
Like many people in music, colin is a pure music lover who thrives on listening and hopefully being moved by a song or an album.
He mentioned in his last podcast that he was feeling the strains and pressure of combining everyday life, with your love of music and had thought about cutting back.
So I just wanted to show my support and say - Mate, we musicians need you, so please stick around !
If you have not heard Colins broadcasts you can hear him weekly at:
We have finished and had fun putting together the footage for the Love Always video, as we have used footage from a number of our many recent trips in the dream mobile, to the the Bell town area of Seattle, with many new and some very special friendships made, during this period.
The footage from the party was taken at a recent benefit gig, Steve and I attended and had a great time as you can see.
As special and sincere-shout-out to everyone who appears in the footage, you turned what should be a sad song into a triumphant visual of love & peace thats exists on the streets of America and every other city on this planet.
And I believe the world can change!
Cheers !
FATHERS DAY GIFT. - 11 June 2008
Well, as I will not be able to see my own son this fathers day here in the USA, I wanted to share the song that is dedicated to him.
A number of people have commented in how much they like the song, so it makes sense that you should have an opportunity to download it for free for a while.
As always I encourage you to - rip it - play it - share it !
Cheers!
Mike
New Date Announced. - 8 June 2008
We are confirmed to play the Hendrix Festival in Seattle, in September.
We will also be lining up some more shows, in between as well.

A Big Thank You ! - 8 June 2008
I wanted to thank everyone that came out to support us on Friday night, it rated as one of my all time favorite shows to date, with us playing 37 songs.
We were joined for the whole evening, with guitar legend Randy Hansen
We rehearsed during the week at Mystery Lane and also over at Randy's Studio.
A truly multi-talented musician he asked to play drums and steal guitar, so thats exactly what happened, making a truly incredible night for the crowd.
We were also joined by drummer Eddie "The Tongue" Mendoza, the-crazy-mexican of many hats, who we met recently, at a swanky northwest music party, the location we are never allowed to talk about, but are honored to be invited to.
A highlight of the night was when we were joined on stage by Mr. Tony La Stella, who has appeared in 14 Broadway productions, amongst other T.V and film appearances.
Tony was kind enough to perform 3 songs with us, including My Son and his own killer song "Torn Between Two Hearts", which I got to play drums on for the first time ever live.
Also joining us was my old friend and former band mate Rick Knotts, we did a great version of Big City, which I wrote when I was in Cb's.
All In all, we got the impression everyone there loved the show, and the good news is. Randy has agreed to do some more shows with us, sooner rather than later. So like I said, I'm not going anywhere other than forward.
Cheers Jack & All & the Owl N Thistle, for allowing us into your home.
Also a special mention to Vic Wright Photography, who kindly shot and provided the footage with kind permission.
Cheers!
Mike.
Looking Up Looking Down - 3 June 2008
Well the 16 track all original album 'Looking Up Looking Down' is waiting to filter through, and should be available for download with iTunes by the end of June.
So I'll leave Lays Me Down available for FREE, if you fancy taking it and adding it to your collection.
Cheers!

AirPlay For 'Lays Me Down'. - 3 June 2008
Colin Meeks over at indielaucnhpad has been a real support for my work over the past couple of years and featured "Lays Me Down" on his 100th PODCAST lasdt week. Way to go mate with the show, in true John Peel form, and cheers for your support.
In other news regarding "Lays me Down", I'm pleased to announce that it has been picked up by a British radio station, who will be playing it this week.
Cheers!
Mike.
Best Download Month Ever. - 2 June 2008
Well lays Me Down seems to be popular with you all, which is great as we are seeing downloads from the following corners of our planet.
United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, Spain, Estonia, Argentina, Poland, Czech Republic
Croatia, Netherlands, China, Thailand, Seychelles, Switzerland, Norway, Portugal, Belgium, Russian Federation, Brazil, Italy, Latvia
Thank you for your growing support and contrary to what I may say, I'm really not going anywhere other than moving forward with entertaining you all.
I'll leave the tune up for a little while longer, as you all like it so much.
I'm pleased to say the album is finally finished after one year of writing and for a couple of tunes re-writing.
There are number of songs on there we are extremely fond of, being a couple late entree's.
Love Always, Lays Me Down.. even playing drums very badly on - well you guess.
These songs were born out of circumstance and really help round the 16 track album off.
I've had a lot of opportunities come my way in recent years and in recent months lost a lot due to those very same opportunities, all is reflected in this body of work.
I will be making the new album available worldwide on iTunes and all other digital outlets through the usual CDbaby channels within the next few weeks and will keep you all posted - So if necessary it can take care of itself, with possible radio promo. But of course being independent that amounts to overhead !!
While I'm aware there are more of you each month visiting this little site from the four corners of the planet, it is time for me to get back to some kind of normal life, whatever that may be and say goodbye for a while.
I have played guitar since the age of 11 and next to my family it has remained my greatest friend.
I am amazed at the level of determination by artists around the world including myself in what we will sacrifice in the name of success, and I have been honored by your support.
Steve and I have two gigs left at the Owl N Thistle then I will off for a while, not sure yet. But the ego has firmly been placed in the, been there done that room.
Me being me, I'm giving away Lays Me Down for a week, then you'll have to buy it or just burn it for your friends.
"Speak only of what you are prepared to carry out in action".
makoto.
Cheers!
